Day Habilitation

Day Habilitation is a structured program that is designed to promote acquisition of skills or maintenance of skills for the member outside the residential home. Day habilitation activities occur during naturally occurring routines of the day for the member.

Day Habilitation Program services include, but are not limited to:

  • Development of self-care skills
  • Use of community services and businesses
  • Emergency skills
  • Mobility skills
  • Nutritional skills
  • Social skills
  • Communication and speech instruction
  • Therapy Objectives
  • Interpersonal skills instruction
  • Functional academics such as recognizing emergency and other public signs, independent money management skills, etc.
  • Citizenship, rights, and responsibilities, self-advocacy, etc.
  • Other habilitative services necessary for an inidividual to participate in activities in the community settings of his/her choice
  • Self medication
  • Independent living skills
  • Volunteer services
