Home-Delivered Meal Program
The state of West Virginia has temporarily changed the requirements for the Home Delivered Meal program and added Grab and Go Meals. Call 304-725-4044 to see if you are eligible for these meals.
Jefferson County Council on Aging offers Home Delivered Meals that meet 1/3 of the Recommended Daily Allowance for all dietary nutrients and vitamins to Jefferson County residents 60 years of age or older who meet the following eligibility requirements:
Homebound– The person cannot leave his/her home under normal circumstances (and therefore unable to participate in a JCCOA Congregate Meal program) due to illness, including a terminal illness, incapacitating disability isolation, lack of transportation
OR
Lives Alone– and is physically or mentally unable to obtain food and prepare meals, and there is no one else available to obtain food and prepare meals. The spouse (regardless of age) of an eligible service recipient is also eligible if recipient of the meal is determined to be in the best interest of the service recipient.
A disabled individual, regardless of age, who resides at the home of an eligible recipient, is eligible for home-delivered meals.
JCCOA Home-Delivered Meals are currently being delivered to Charles Town, Ranson, Middleway, Summit Point, Tuscawilla, and Harpers Ferry/Bolivar areas.
